Since its release, it received multiple enhanced ports and re-releases, including the Xbox 360 port (as a bonus disc for that platform's release of Quake 4), the PC digital re-release (via Steam on August 3, 2007, albeit without the original soundtrack), and Quake II RTX: an enhanced PC and Linux version by NVIDIA's Lightspeed Studios, released on June 6, 2019, that makes extensive use of the ray-tracing technologies of modern GPUs. The game's story was also expanded in both Quake 4 and the spin-off Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Other releases include Quake II Netpack I: Extremities (which include fan-made mods and levels), Quake II: Quad Damage (which include the game, both Mission Packs, and the Netpack), Quake II: Colossus (a Linux compilation including the game and both Mission Packs), and Ultimate Quake (which include the original Quake trilogy). ![]() This is one of the factors for not putting all of our eggs in one basket. As an aside, connectivity to their US5 data center has not been the best in the world over the years. I think they really will get there at some point, but as it stands right now, years after initial deep talks, they have made great strides and they’re at the gates of the big game, but ultimately are still outside of the stadium while the real solutions are playing ball. I describe them to people as wanting to take over the world. I will say that the higher ups at acronis I’ve spoke with over the years really do have a LOT of vision. CrowdStrike/S1, hell defender for endpoint is pretty badass if you’ve got the licensing and set it up correctly. We tried, and still do try, their advanced features when improvements roll out, but they aren’t in the ballpark of the other competitors in this arena just yet. They implemented some of the stuff that was discussed (probably not as a result of discussing it, but as a result of it being a smart thing to do with their platform). We did try, and had several conversations with Ops and even devs at various points in 2020-2022. That’s not to say we didn’t try them out, they just didn’t beat the stuff we already had in place and the agent did cause some odd issues with more advanced features turned on. Regarding Acronis ‘advanced features’ like this, we don’t use them in production. But I truly am trying to be neutral here. Additionally, my company has been an acronis partner for years and I’ve been lucky enough to speak at some of their conferences as a SME, just to throw it out there. They do backups well and it’s pretty simple. Quick caveat- I love acronis for the things that most people love acronis for. +1 for huntress & please excuse the whisky Does that makes sense? Like, I don't want garbage, but I don't need FBI or GCHQ levels of defence either.Īnyway, has anyone used acronis' EDR product? Good? Bad? I'm looking for an easy to use product that won't add a massive burden to our techs, but still is good enough. And having all security related things in one place is my idea of a good time.īut it nags at me that they are originally a backup company that's only done security for like 5 years.Īnd it might sound idiotic, but I'm not looking for the absolute best in security. Not to mention it seems designed for MSPs with less cybersec savvy employees. Plus, being able to not only block an incident, but restore from backup and patch any vulnerability used, all from one console is very attractive. The last one is because we already use acronis backups, and that means 1 client to rule them all. ![]() In the hat are huntress cos of the general consensus here about how great they are to deal with, S1 cos they get good reviews. We are looking to implement EDR for as many of our clients as possible, and are going to test some out. But I still appreciate the feedback, comrades! But also, I was hoping to find someone who had used Acronis EDR at all, not necessarily what's better than it. It doesn't have to be what the fortune-500 would use, it just has to be good enough to say "this supplements your AV to detect unknown threats, and it's going to cost you $x in your SLA"Īnd also, keep the suggestions coming in! I'll look at them over the next weeks to see if they are a good fit for us. ![]() We are looking for something that's easy to use, doesn't add a huge workload to us poor sods who are already busy, and that is affordable to pitch to clients. We aren't looking for a full-blown SOC-backed EDR, since literally none of our clients could or would pay for it. The $100-yearly Premium version ups that to 1TB of online storage and adds blockchain certification and electronic signing of files.EDIT: I should have clarified the position we are in - we are a smaller MSP than most of you would be, out in the middle of rural Australia. The subscription versions Remove non-product link available via the Acronis website include the $50-yearly Advanced version, offering 250GB of online storage as well as end-to-end encryption and social media backup. The Personal version of the program is available in three flavors: the perpetual license Standard version ( available on Amazon), which costs $50. If you know about backup, it’s easier to get up to speed. Tiny scroll bars require finer mousework than is necessary, and there’s a complete lack of tool tips (tiny windows with explanations in them). True Image 2019’s interface is attractive, in a modern, 2D kind of way. It’s much cleaner than it used to be, but it’s still not particularly intuitive or easy. If you’re a software minimalist, there are simpler solutions such as Window’s own File History, a sort of poor man’s Time Machine. We have to admit, they are very good at it. The company wants to control every aspect of every backup chore. True Image 2019 keeps seven background processes running. ![]() So just pick whatever you feel goes as there are no pieces designed to match. Also note that you cannot use the Sanctum of the Stars flight point until you are at least Friendly with the Scryers. Crossing Terokkar was more dangerous than crossing Shadowmoon Valley, except a short stretch just as you enter the zone. Personal note: I was able to get a level 58 character to Sanctum of the Stars with minimal deaths. You can wait for some enterprising soul to overprice them on the Auction House. You can get a Scryer-aligned friend to purchase the recipe for you.You can plan ahead and buy them before you declare for either Aldor or Scrye.r.Since these recipes are not soulbound, you have a few choices if you're not a Scryer: They are still Limited Quantity (the vendor may have one or both, or neither at the time you check), and still not soulbound. If you're Aldor, you're out of luck without some outside assistance.Īlthough most vendor recipes are now Unlimited quantity and Bind on Pickup, these recipes are not. You don't have to be aligned to Scryers or have any higher reputation with them to use this recipe, but you do need to be at least Neutral with the Scryers to interact with the vendor and purchase. There are two recipes that you can purchase from a "neutral" vendor (of sorts), from a Scryers-aligned vendor at Sanctum of the Stars in Shadowmoon Valley. While this means you will have to pick up copies for yourself, at least you're guaranteed that the vendor will actually have the recipe when you visit. Some Vendor Patterns are Bind on Pickup, but are Unlimited Quantity. The same patterns are available to both sides. Most of these are either Alliance or Horde, with one Neutral vendor. The following patterns can be purchased from vendors throughout the Outlands. The following early Tailoring patterns are learned from Tailoring trainers: There are also some patterns learned from normal vendors, although one of them has a bit of a devious Scryer twist. Reputation grinding isn't too bad, since it's mostly concentrated on Scryer or Aldor, with just a couple other patterns where you only need to get Honored with two reputations. Specialty tailoring provides some interesting color in the mid-leveling process. Many of the early patterns are learned from a trainer, fortunately, so this gives a good start. The majority of Tailoring patterns in The Burning Crusade Classic come from drops - either from specific mobs, world drops, or zone drops in Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye.
